The Hoover Institution’s library and tower will be closed on Tuesday morning, February 14, 2012, due to electrical work. The Hoover archives will be open during the process. The library and tower will reopen at 11:30 am on February 14, 2012. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Maps and Directions to the Hoover Institution

The Hoover Institution is located on the campus of Stanford University, between the cities of San Francisco and San Jose, California. As the below map indicates, the three main buildings that make up the Hoover Institution’s facilities are located near the corner of Galvez and Serra Streets, to the east of the Main Quad and Oval.

The Hoover Tower is home to the Hoover Library and also features a popular observation deck on the 14th floor with views of the surrounding area. The Herbert Hoover Memorial Building houses the main administrative offices of the Institution, the Hoover Archives, and a number of offices for resident fellows. The Lou Henry Hoover Building is primarily offices for resident scholars, but also features conferencing space for the Institution.
