Liam Julian is a research fellow at the Hoover Institution. Julian works as associate writer and editor for the Thomas B. Fordham Foundation, where he is responsible for producing and editing the organization’s weekly periodical, The Education Gadfly, as well as editing other Fordham publications. In his time at Fordham he has coauthored two reports: The State of State Standards 2006, a state-by-state review of American education standards, and To Dream the Impossible Dream, which makes the case for how national standards and testing could—and should—be done. He also serves on the editorial board of The Journal of School Choice.
Before arriving at Fordham, Julian worked as a columnist for the Tallahassee Democrat, Florida’s capital-city newspaper, for which he still frequently writes. Julian is an adjunct scholar of the James Madison Institute. His research interests include education and education reform, especially legal and race issues in schools.
