Christopher S. Dauer is an associate director at the Hoover Institution.
As director of marketing and strategic communications, Dauer oversees the Institution’s print publications, web-based content channels, and video offerings. He is responsible for developing communication strategy and launching new products and platforms.
Before coming to Hoover, Dauer spent more than twenty years in the medical technology field focusing on marketing, sales, and strategy. He was a senior executive at four start-up companies: the privately held Invuity, Inc., Evalve, Inc. (acquired by Abbott Vascular), St. Francis Medical Technologies (acquired by Kyphon/Medtronic), and Fusion Medical Technologies (acquired by Baxter International).
Dauer graduated magna cum laude in economics and history from Brown University and received an MBA from Stanford University. He lives in Los Altos with his wife and two young children.
