PAPERS OF LATE U.S. CHIEF JUSTICE WILLIAM REHNQUIST DONATED TO HOOVER INSTITUTION
STANFORD – The papers of Supreme Court justice William H. Rehnquist for the 1972 and 1973 Supreme Court terms will be opened to researchers at the Hoover Institution Archives on Monday, November 17, 2008. Rehnquist's papers from the 1974 term and his correspondence files from 1972 through 2005 will be opened by January 5, 2009.

Archival collections include the Brian Weinstein papers concerning Félix Éboué and Gabon, 18931972; the Charles F. Darlington (former U.S. ambassador to Gabon, 196165) papers ; the René Lemarchand papers on Burundi, Rwanda, and Zaire, 192072; the Urbain Kinet papers on work at the Institut pour la Recherche Scientifique en Afrique Centrale in Uvira, Zaire; the diary of René Gauze, chief of police, Brazzaville, 194963; the Virginia M. Thompson-Richard Adloff papers concerning Congo-Brazzaville, Zaire, and other Francophone African countries, 193186; reports by British missionary David Grenfell of work among Angolan refugees in Zaire, 196370; photocopies of material on Equatorial Guinea from Suzanne Cronje, 196977; records of the Conseil National de Libération (Zaire), 1964, concerning the Kwilu rebellion; five manuscript boxes and ten reels, 194763, of political ephemera and government documents collected by Herbert Weiss (mainly in Lingala); and records on the Mouvement Populaire de la Révolution (Zaire), 196775; and the Ernest Lefever papers on United Nations intervention in Zaire.
