WSJ columnist and author Peggy Noonan visited the Hoover Institution on Friday, November 11, 2011. Noonan's recent columns have tackled topics including the oppositional rhetoric of President Obama and US representative Paul Ryan, the Republican primary candidates and debates, and the Occupy Wall Street protests. Hoover fellows and Noonan discussed current political and cultural events.
Noonan has written seven books on American politics, history, and culture. Her essays have appeared in Forbes, Time, Newsweek, the Washington Post, the New York Times, and other publications, and she is a frequent guest on political talk shows. Noonan was a special assistant to President Ronald Reagan from 1984 to 1986.
