Audiocassette recordings of interviews of former Polish employees of Radio Free Europe (RFE) have been digitized by Hoover's audio lab for preservation and access. Most of the interviews, which were taped in 2001, were conducted by Lechoslaw “Leszek” Gawlikwoski, an editor and manager of RFE's Polish broadcasting department.

The interviews are taken from two collections, the Lechoslaw Gawlikowski Interviews and the Ryszard Kołaczkowski Papers, joining a growing body of digitized sound recordings relating to RFE's language services in the Arch Puddington Collection, Barbara Nawratowicz Papers, Ferdinand Peroutka Papers, and others. They also complement Hoover's immense set of RFE broadcast recordings in the RFE/RL Broadcast Records.

Use copies of the sound recordings are available at the Hoover Archives. To make an appointment to listen to the recordings or to purchase copies, please contact archives@hoover.stanford.edu.
