The Iran Democracy Project seeks to understand the process and prospects for democracy in Iran and the Middle East. Its goal is to help the West understand the complexities of the Muslim world and possible trajectories for transitions to democracy and free markets in the Middle East.
Soviet Archives Research Project
This project brings together historians, economists, and political scientists to study the records of the Soviet state and party located in the Hoover Archives. The goal is to understand the workings of Soviet totalitarianism by studying the world's best documented dictatorship.
