Hoover Institution Summer Policy Boot Camp Application

 

APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2019 PROGRAM ARE NOW CLOSED

 

Program Dates: AUGUST 18, 2019 - august 24, 2019

Only those who meet one of the following requirements should move forward with this application:

  • Completed at least two years of a four-year undergraduate degree by summer 2019 (i.e., current sophomores, juniors or seniors)

  • Completed at least two years of a three-year undergraduate degree by summer 2019 (some international applicants); or

  • Recent graduate from an undergraduate degree program (graduate students are eligible to apply).

 
COST/ TUITION

The boot camp is FREE to all accepted applicants. Program fees, food and lodging will be covered for participants accepted into the program. Travel expenses and other incidentals are not included.


how to apply

The Early Bird application deadline is January 1, 2019 ($0 no application fee)
The Final application deadline is March 15, 2019 for all applicants ($100 application fee from January 2 - March 15, 2019).

Candidates should submit an essay explaining how this program fits into their professional or educational goals (1,000 words maximum), a CV, a completed application form, and two letters of reference.

The application fee is non-refundable, and must be received by the March 15, 2019 deadline.
Program fees, food and lodging will be free to accepted applicants.

Applicants will be notified of acceptance by April 15, 2019.

The following short essay question offers the admissions committee a better understanding of your background and goals. Please limit your response to 1000 words in total.

International Applicants - English Language Proficiency
Please select the manner in which you will demonstrate English language proficiency. If you wish to submit an IELTS score, please use a 'TOEFL score dated within the past 24 months' to demonstrate English language proficiency. List your test date where it asks for the TOEFL test date and list your overall IELTS band score where it asks for your total score.
Recommender Information
We require two recommendations for a complete application. If you are a current student, at least one recommendation must come from a professor or academic advisor. Complete the information below and then send an email to your recommenders with this link (http://hvr.co/HiSPBC-LOR) for them to submit their letters of recommendation. It is your responsibility to make sure your recommendations are submitted by the application deadline of January 1, 2019 for early bird registration or March 15, 2019 for standard registration. You are responsible for communicating this deadline to your recommenders.
