John Chubb was as a distinguished visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution since 1999, where he was a charter member of Hoover’s Koret Task Force on K–12 Education, on which he served for sixteen years.  "Our hearts are heavy with the news of John Chubb's passing. John spent his life dedicated to making our nation's schools better for our kids, and he will be remembered always for his extraordinary work in education reform."

Iraq Through The Lens Of A Silas Palmer Fellow

Hoover Archives has received a collection of nearly five hundred photographs taken in Iraq during 2005–6 by Maciej Milczanowski, one of Hoover Library & Archives’ 2015 Silas Palmer Fellows.   Professor Milczanowski, who now directs the International Security Department of the University of Information, Technology, and Management in Rzeszów, Poland, was a captain with the Polish contingent of the Multinational Force Iraq.

Hoover Institution Opens Burmese Subject Collection

The Hoover Institution’s newly created Burmese Subject Collection includes historical materials ranging from the British colonial period to the post-1948 independent era. Among the valuable documents are brochures, issuances, and investigative reports by the British authorities, documents pertaining to the Burmese ruling military junta and antigovernment forces from the 1950s to the 1970s, and the campaign materials of Aung San Suu Kyi and the National League for Democracy under her leadership.
