PolicyEd has become a strategic mainstay for Hoover and a centerpiece of the Institution’s approach to engaging the broader public in policy discussions. We have assembled a growing library of accessible video content to introduce Hoover policy ideas to younger people in particular. PolicyEd content includes short animations, video series, and several feature-length documentary films spanning a variety of topics, from economics, national security, and health care to the environment and civics.

The Hoover Institution Capital Conversations Year in Review

In 2020, we launched Hoover Capital Conversations. In this series, Hoover fellows discussed a variety of pressing topics with policy makers at several levels of government and leadership. These in-depth, informed conversations aimed to pull back the curtain on policy development and execution. The topics reflected the Hoover Institution’s research priorities of individual, economic, and political freedom; private enterprise; and representative government.

Amid California’s recovery from its great recession, a new Golden State Poll conducted by the Hoover Institution at Stanford University finds Golden State residents concerned about  younger generations’ being able to meet the demands of exorbitant housing prices, and the ability of low- and middle-income residents to claim their piece of the California Dream and  being priced out of where they currently live.

The Hoover Institution is pleased to announce that Michael Franc, former policy director and counsel to House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, is the new director of Washington, DC, programs for the Hoover Institution. Franc, who will also serve as a research fellow, will oversee the Hoover’s Washington, DC, research and outreach initiatives to promote ideas and scholarship in our nation’s capital.
