The Iran Nuclear Deal Needs To Be Fixed And Rewritten, Not Just Revived

by Russell A. Bermanvia The Hill
Wednesday, March 3, 2021

U.S. air strikes successfully destroyed facilities used by Iran-backed militia in eastern Syria last Thursday. But the operation also exposed the contradictions in the Biden administration's approach to Iran. Returning to the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) has been central to the Biden foreign policy vision, contingent only on Iran's meeting its obligations. Addressing the several flaws in the agreement, such as the exclusion of Iran's regional destabilization efforts, is supposed to be postponed to some future second stage of wider talks.

Goodman On Single Payer

by John H. Cochranevia The Grumpy Economist
Wednesday, March 3, 2021

With the current focus on "equity" and "disadvantage," even in the midst of a pandemic, one might yearn for the simplicity of a government run system. Surely if health care were free at the point of delivery, paid for by taxes, all the inequities of health care would disappear, no? (Sure we might all get bad health care, but we'd all get the same health care, no?)
