The Hoover Institution held its annual fall retreat during October 19 and 20, 2015. It offered presentations by Hoover fellows on a wide range of public policy issues, from US and world history to foreign policy to education and health care and the economic challenges of the future. Below is a selection of podcasts from the conference.

Henry S. “Harry” Rowen, Hoover Institution senior fellow, Professor Emeritus of Public Policy and Management at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, and recipient of the United States Department of Defense Distinguished Service Medal, passed away November 12, 2015, at the age of 90. Harry’s work in policy, public service, and academia spanned 6 decades and yielded countless contributions to our understanding of international economics, security, and development. His strength in advancing Hoover’s mission and reputation was inimitable.
 

Hoover Archives has received a collection of nearly five hundred photographs taken in Iraq during 2005–6 by Maciej Milczanowski, one of Hoover Library & Archives’ 2015 Silas Palmer Fellows.   Professor Milczanowski, who now directs the International Security Department of the University of Information, Technology, and Management in Rzeszów, Poland, was a captain with the Polish contingent of the Multinational Force Iraq.
