On February 6, 2021, George P. Shultz, one of this country’s most distinguished public servants, passed away at age 100. Shultz had served in three U.S. administrations as secretary of labor, director of the Office of Management and Budget, secretary of the Treasury, and secretary of state. After the 1986 Reykjavik Summit, he led negotiations with the Soviet Union that led in December 1987 to the Intermediate Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty.

Another great graph from Torsten Slok at Apollo. Foreigners hold less, Fed holds more. However, the Fed doesn't really hold Treasurys. The Fed turns Treasurys into interest-paying reserves, which banks hold. And banks turn reserves into bank deposits and other assets which we hold.

Military history professor Victor Davis Hanson repelled the proposal that the Taliban were “gentle” and “kind” at the “American Newsroom” on Thursday, and terrorist groups were “drunk with the smoke of victory.” So I suggested that it was exactly the opposite. Experts went on to explain that after receiving $ 85 billion worth of US military training and equipment, the group was more dangerous and greedy than ever.
