Niall Ferguson To Join The Hoover Institution Full Time

The Hoover Institution is pleased to announce that Niall Ferguson will become a full-time, in-residence senior fellow as of July 2016.  Ferguson has been an adjunct senior fellow at the Hoover Institution since September 2003.  Ferguson comes to the Hoover Institution from Harvard University where he served as the Laurence A. Tisch Professor of History.

On September 25th, acclaimed Russian-American filmmaker Marianna Yarovskaya, Hoover fellow Paul Gregory, and  Hoover archivist Natalia Reshetova, screened a rough cut of their documentary film Women of the Gulag before a packed auditorium of participants in the international conference “Stalinism: Ideology and Practice,” organized by Perm State Humanitarian Pedagogical University in Perm, Russia.

Doctor Zhivago Conference, Publication, and Exhibition Celebrate Extensive Boris Pasternak Materials at Hoover Library & Archives

From September 28 to October 2, The Hoover Library & Archives are co-hosting, along with Stanford’s Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures, a conference entitled “Poetry and Politics in the Twentieth Century: Boris Pasternak, His Family, and His Novel Doctor Zhivago.” The conference brings together leading academics in the fields of literature and history, as well as Boris Pasternak’s family members, several of whom have donated their family papers to the Hoover Archives. In conjunction with the conference, Hoover will mount a week-long exhibition of Pasternak materials in the rotunda of the Hoover Tower.
