Former commander of the U.S. Central Command General John Abizaid is appointed the first Annenberg Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution. A four-star general holding an advanced degree from Harvard, Abizaid served as commandant of the U. S. Military Academy at West Point. He previously visited Hoover as a National Security Affairs Fellow in 1992–93.
