Processing of the large Herbert Romerstein Collection in the Hoover Institution Archives has been completed. The collection provides unusually thorough documentation of international communism and communism in the United States. This includes extensive coverage of the network of communist front organizations, communist influence in mainstream organizations, Soviet espionage in the United States, and techniques of psychological warfare, including disinformation and forgery. The collection was assembled over a period of decades by Herbert Romerstein (1931-2013) during his long service as a Congressional committee staff member and U.S. Information Agency staff member and as an independent writer on communism.
