More Americans are being taken prisoner in the PRC as Beijing seeks to extend its transnational repression and silence its critics.  The cases of Min Zin, the researcher on the CCP’s interference in Myanmar, and Youlin Chen, the seismologist who examined public data for signs of North Korean nuclear tests, are just two examples.

More satellite imagery is becoming available to show that the PRC military is constructing targets of U.S. military war ships and facilities on their missile test ranges.

Commentators in Foreign Affairs and the German newspaper Handelsblatt observe how the PRC’s actions both within its domestic economy and on the world stage are sabotaging the country’s own future.

On his podcast, Ezra Klein interviews Kevin Rudd, the former Australian Prime Minister and Ambassador to the United States as well as a scholar on the writings and policies of Xi Jinping.  The two discuss how Xi rules the PRC, where he is taking his country, and what the implications are for the United States and the rest of the world.
