ISSUES DISCUSSED

Governor Warsh addressed a wide variety of issues, including the current debate on regulating executive compensation and the outlook on the industrial organization of the financial services industry. He provided insights into some of the recent proposals regarding a new resolution authority for the Fed, as well as institutional regulatory design in general. In addition, he discussed the role of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in causing and precipitating the recent financial crisis. He also provided his views on the Fed’s quantitative easing programs.
