A Deeper Dive into Space

Walter J. Manuel is a PhD student in the Space Rendezvous Lab at Stanford, researching astro­dynamics modeling and optimal control in the three-body problem, with applications to cislunar space.

Tommaso Guffanti is a postdoctoral scholar in the Space Rendezvous Lab at Stanford. His research explores the intersection of spacecraft dynamics, guidance and control, multiagent autonomy, and machine learning.

Isobel Porteous is a junior studying aeronautical and astronautical engineering at Stanford. She has worked on remote sensing constellation development in low Earth orbit and launch vehicle propulsion testing, and has consulted for the US Space Force.

Nicolas Lee is a lecturer in aeronautics and astronautics at Stanford, where he was previously a research engineer specializing in ground-based experiments and mission concept studies exploring the effects of the space environment on spacecraft.

Herbert S. Lin, SETR director and editor in chief, is a senior research scholar at the Center for International Security and Cooperation and the Hank J. Holland Fellow in Cyber Policy and Security at the Hoover Institution.
