Energy Task Force Meeting

On September 20, the Shultz-Stephenson Task Force on Energy Policy met to discuss technological and policy evolution in the rapidly-evolving transportation fuel sector. The day’s discussions centered around three presentations: “US Transportation Fuel Security: Supply Side Update,” by Michael Levi of the Council on Foreign Relations; “Natural Gas for Transport: Status and Business Case,” by Michael Gallagher of Westport Innovations and chair of NPC Future Transportation Fuels Study Natural Gas Group Chair; and “Biofuels: Current Dynamics and Prospects,” by Sonia Yeh of the UC Davis Institute of Transportation Studies.

The Shultz-Stephenson Task Force on Energy Policy addresses energy policy in the United States and its effects on our domestic and international political priorities, particularly our national security. The task force’s goals are to gather comprehensive information on current scientific and technological developments, survey the contingent policy actions, and offer a range of prescriptive policies to address our varied energy challenges.
