About This Issue
This week’s issue includes a “High-level” event at the United Nations on May 12th in which eighteen countries called on the People’s Republic of China to end their crimes and genocide against their Uyghur citizens. With remarks by U.S. Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield, UK Ambassador to the UN Barbara Woodward and the German Ambassador to the UN Christoph Heusgen, with no senior UN officials participating, the event highlights how effectively Beijing intimidates international institutions into remaining silent about their crimes.
