Supplementing his weekly column “The Libertarian,” which appears in the Hoover Institution’s Defining Ideas, Hoover Institution senior fellow Richard Epstein posted his first Libertarian podcast on January 21, 2013.
The weekly podcast series adds to Epstein’s regular written analysis that presents his classically libertarian perspective on national developments in public policy and the law. In the podcast, Epstein will address both breaking news and policy issues.
One theme that Epstein has addressed during the past several months is the US debt crisis, which he discusses in his first podcast. In his next podcast, Epstein will examine President Obama’s inaugural speech. The complete Libertarian archive (dating to Epstein’s first piece in Defining Ideas) can be found here.
Epstein is the Peter and Kirsten Bedford Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, the Laurence A. Tisch Professor of Law at New York University Law School, and a senior lecturer at the University of Chicago. With John Yoo, he participates in the weekly podcast Law Talk with Epstein & Yoo; he is also a regular guest on the nationally syndicated John Batchelor Show.
The Libertarian podcast joins audio and video offerings of other Hoover fellows on the web, including Russell Roberts’s EconTalk and The Numbers Game and Peter Robinson’s Uncommon Knowledge. In addition Benjamin Wittes, a member of Hoover’s Koret-Taube Task Force on National Security and Law, offers the Lawfare Podcast. Other Hoover-sponsored videos, such as Ask the Expert and American Education in 2030, may be found on Hoover’s YouTube site.
