Tonight, the Ohio House Education Committee will consider testimony on House Bill 237, legislation that would repeal the Common Core, the state’s new and more rigorous learning standards for math and English language arts. As an organization committed to high academic standards, the Thomas B. Fordham Institute vigorously opposes the repeal of the Common Core and as such, opposes House Bill 237. What follows is the written testimony of Michael J. Petrilli, Executive Vice President for the Fordham Institute.
