Memorial Service for Seymour Martin Lipset is February 13 at Stanford Memorial Church

STANFORD -- A memorial service for the late Seymour Martin Lipset, a renowned political sociologist who was a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, will be at 4 p.m., Tuesday, February 13 at Stanford Memorial Church.
Lipset, who also was a professor of public policy emeritus at George Mason University, died December 31, 2006, in Arlington, Virginia.
The ceremony, which is planned for an hour, will feature brief tributes and eulogies of Marty from family, friends, colleagues, collaborators, and students. A reception will follow in the Gold Lounge of the Stanford Faculty Club.
From 1975 to 1990, Lipset also was the Caroline S.G. Munro Professor of Political Science and Sociology at Stanford University and, earlier, the George D. Markham Professor of Government and Sociology at Harvard University.
