National Fellow Elizabeth Cobbs Hoffman writes new book, Broken Promises: A Novel of the Civil War

Elizabeth Cobbs Hoffman, currently a W. Glenn Campbell and Rita Ricardo-Campbell National Fellow, recently wrote a book titled Broken Promises: A Novel of the Civil War, which tells the story of the war in 1861. Hoffman’s book has earned a number of honors, including the San Diego Book Award for Best Historical Fiction and Director’s Mention of the Langum Prize for American Historical Fiction. On April 15, 2011, Hoffman will give a book talk at Stanford University.
