Camilo Ruiz Tassinari is a historian of energy and economic life in modern Latin America. His research examines Mexico's power industry during the golden years of economic growth and political stability in the second half of the 20th century. Based upon fifteen government and business archives across Mexico, the United States, and Europe, his work explores transnational capital flows, US foreign policy in Latin America, the influence of International Financial Institutions, and the politics of development in Mexico.

He is working on his first book manuscript, tentatively titled Light and Power: Development and Energy During the Mexican Miracle. His research has appeared in the Journal of Contemporary History and Historia Mexicana.

Ruiz Tassinari holds a PhD from the University of Chicago, an MA in History from Mexico’s National University, and a BA from Sciences Po Paris.
