Metallized Materials Company records, 1987–2001
The records of this British-German-Soviet joint venture company contain contracts, minutes, and legal and financial records relating to the manufacture of metal products in the Soviet Union and post-Soviet Russia.
John H. Morse papers, 1957–73
The papers of Morse, who was US deputy assistant secretary of defense for European and NATO affairs from 1970 to 1973, contain correspondence, writings, and printed matter relating to nuclear warfare strategy, questions of nuclear arms testing and disarmament, positioning nuclear missiles in Europe as a part of the NATO alliance, and the development of the neutron bomb.
Ansis Pommers papers, 1929–2011
These writings, printed matter, and sound recordings of interviews concern the history of Latvian emigration after World War II and to Latvians in the United States, to which Pommers himself was an immigrant.
Stolen Years video tape, 1999
This raw video footage of interviews with historians and Soviet forced labor camp survivors was the background material for the television program Stolen Years (1999), which was directed by Bruce Young and broadcast by the Public Broadcasting Service in 1999. The interviews were conducted from 1996 to 1998.
Lester Ziffren papers, 1933–89
As Madrid bureau chief for United Press in the mid-1930s, Ziffren filed dispatches and made nightly radio broadcasts describing conditions in Spain before the outbreak and during the first six months of the Spanish Civil War. His papers contain a diary, news dispatches, radio broadcast transcripts, and printed matter relating to Spain in the 1930s and the civil war.
