Chase Koontz serves as deputy chief of staff to the director of the Hoover Institution. In this role, he provides operational leadership to the Director’s Office, with a focus on new initiatives and strategic programming. As part of this work, he leads the growth of the 1919 Society, Hoover’s initiative to engage mid-career professionals. Prior to joining Hoover, he served as director of corporate services and special assistant to the national chair of the Boy Scouts of America in Dallas, Texas. A native of Indiana, Koontz holds a BA in government from the College of William & Mary. He and his wife live in Dallas with their two young children.
