Dyan Gibbens was previously a Veteran Fellow at the Hoover Institution 2022–23.

Dyan Gibbens leads Trumbull, named by Forbes a Top 25 Veteran Founded Startup, serving energy and defense. Since 2020, she has advised AFWERX and SpaceWERX, innovation arms of the US Air and Space Forces. Gibbens studied engineering, instructed skydiving, and learned to fly at the US Air Force Academy and gained leadership experience in autonomy, aerospace, and AI. Gibbens earned an MBA and was an industrial engineering PhD candidate at Ohio State University, where she studied computer vision and optimization. Supporting Air Force One, aerospace, and tech initiatives in the Obama, Trump, and Biden administrations, Gibbens also served as one of five US delegates at G7 I-7 in Italy focused on AI and the future of work. In 2019, Google selected her as one of eight globally to serve on the Advanced Technology External Advisory Council (known as Google AI Council). In 2020, the US chief technology officer of the White House asked her to support the Global Partnership on AI by serving on the Responsible AI Working Group. A STEM advocate, Gibbens founded Autonome.org to empower young girls, underserved youth, and children of military families. Gibbens serves on the boards of Space Center Houston, the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International, and other entities and completed Wharton’s corporate governance program.
