Peter H. Schuck is the Simeon E. Baldwin Professor Emeritus of Law at Yale University. His recent books include Diversity in America: Keeping Government at a Safe Distance (2003), Meditations of a Militant Moderate: Cool Views on Hot Topics (2006), Targeting in Social Programs: Avoiding Bad Bets, Removing Bad Apples (with Richard J. Zeckhauser, 2006), and Understanding America: The Anatomy of an Exceptional Nation (co-edited with James Q. Wilson, 2008).
