The Syrian collections are small but significant, containing materials from the late Ottoman era until the end of World War II. The library's holdings are more extensive and include contemporary writings on Syrian politics and society and numerous periodicals and pamphlets issued by political parties, including the Ḥizb al-Baʻth al-'Arabī al-Ishtirākī (Syria) (Ba'th Arab Socialist Party of Syria).
