More than twenty audiotapes exploring the relevance and roles of collection materials in the Hoover Library and Archives have been digitized by Hoover’s audio lab for both preservation and access.

The Tower of Peace radio broadcasts, made in 1957, include interviews with Hoover curators involved in collecting in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and elsewhere, as well as with researchers’ using those collections. In another interview, Herbert Hoover details the beginnings of the Hoover Institution, with a special focus on collecting and the logistics of bringing everything together as a library at Stanford University.

The Turkish Conference proceedings document this 1957 event, which assessed Hoover’s Turkish library and archival materials and their potential for research use.
