Aeon At Hoover Library & Archives: Launching October 12th!

Tuesday, October 10, 2017

Starting October 12th, the Hoover Library & Archives will be implementing Aeon, a software system specially designed for special collections and archives. Through this easy-to-use system, researchers will be able to register to use our reading rooms online and submit requests for our materials directly from our library catalog, SearchWorks, and our collection guides on the Online Archive of California. Through Aeon, users will also be able to submit duplication orders, save requests for later, track the status of current requests, and access your request history.

Additionally, on October 12th the Library & Archives will be updating our retrieval schedule, which will allow us to better plan for your visit and prepare your materials for use. Users are encouraged to submit requests at least two days in advance, as not all material is immediately available.

New Retrieval Schedule:

Materials requested before 1:00 pm will be available the same day at approx. 2:00 pm

Materials requested after 1:00 pm will be available the next business day at approx. 9:30 am

These changes will lead to greater efficiency and a higher level of service for our users. Thank you for your patience while we adapt to this new technology. We look forward to seeing you in the reading rooms!
