The Hoover Institution Library & Archives are pleased to launch their new and updated website. With more than one hundred pages of new content, collection materials are easier to find by regional and topical pages. News items are better integrated across the site, while the strong visual design highlights the depth and breadth of materials in Hoover collections.
This culminates a redesign process that began nine months ago, with dual aims of streamlining navigation and updating content. The landing page is structured in a logical fashion, intuitively guiding a variety of users to the information they need. Collection information is presented by geographic region, subject, and format, with new attention drawn to digitized archival materials available on the Internet.
On every page of the site, a search box allows users to perform keyword searches of archival collections or library materials. In addition, pre-programmed searches on each collection page produce dynamic search results listing collection materials relating to the specific country, topic, or format.
Acquisitions, events, exhibits, and other news will continue to showcase Library and Archives activities. New behind-the-scenes features will bring the collections to life along with the activities of the staff members who care for them.
With these enhancements to content and design, the website can now serve as a better platform for expanding the reach and increasing the use of the Library & Archives.
