Ukrainian-born Maksim Fomin, better known by his pseudonym Vladlen Tatarskii, was a Russian military blogger of partial Tatar descent. On April 2nd, 2023, Fomin was assassinated in a bomb attack in St. Petersburg, Russia. From 2014 until his recent death, Fomin authored popular military blogs that advocated pro-separatist views related to the Ukraine crisis. He also authored three books related to his recollections of war and the political crisis. Beg [Бег - The run] represents the author’s memories of 2014, the first year of the conflict in Ukraine. This publication features a printed inscription on the flyleaf of the book, which was a slogan often used by Tatarskii: Never swear off prison and war.

This publication is the manifesto of the Prometeïvsʹka Liha Atli͡antiĭskoï Khartiï (the Promethean League of the Atlantic Charter), which was an organization and movement based in Europe and created by Poles and exiles from the Soviet Union. The mission of the organization was to resist Soviet rule in Europe and the Caucasus and to restore the right of self-determination for countries under Soviet rule. Originally named Klub Prometeĭ (Prometheus Movement), the organization adopted its new name and published its resolutions and manifesto in 1946. The Hoover Institution Library & Archives holds both the Ukrainian and Russian language versions of the organization's resolutions and manifesto. The Russian language version: Rezoli͡ut͡sii i manifest kongresa Prometeevskoĭ ligi Atlanticheskoĭ khartii.

This book details the author’s memories of life in Yugoslavia in the 1940s. Solodi͡agina-Khaplanova and her family temporarily lived in Yugoslavia while emigrating from Russia to the United States. The book describes vivid childhood memories and family histories. It also gives a portrait of the changes occurring within Yugoslavia and in one small town, Zaječar, during the last days of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, the Nazi invasion and occupation, the resistance, the Red Army's arrival, and communist rule.

This recently cataloged, rare item has been waiting in our backlog since it was first acquired by the Library & Archives in 1975, as indicated by an old acquisition slip found within the pages. This volume was issued by the German branch of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom and outlines the organization’s efforts to promote peace during World War I. The organization was formerly known as Deutscher Frauenausschuss für dauernden Frieden (German Women's Committee for Lasting Peace).

The Rassenpolitisches Amt der NSDAP (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiter-Partei), the Nazi Party’s Office of Racial Policy, issued this 1938 publication relating to “Arierparagraph”. These were clauses and regulations used by German and Austrian institutions, including governmental institutions and legislation, to exclude the participation and limit the rights of “non-Aryans” (Jews). This publication argues the value and necessity of these antisemitic regulations and their inclusion in German law.
