Hoover Institution Library & Archives has recently added a wealth of current Russian educational materials to its library and Russian Subject Collection. This literature will be useful to future researchers looking at the question of how schoolchildren raised in the Russian Federation of the present will think about their country and its history when they reach a more mature age, and how pedagogical approaches may or may not transform this generation of children in comparison with previous generations. In addition to textbooks, the new acquisition includes a variety of supportive and supplementary literature, particularly teacher’s guides, that provides a valuable window on how past events are interpreted and presented to children. The new material builds upon Hoover's enormous Hanna Collection on the Role of Education in Twentieth-Century Society, established in 1976, which provides researchers insight into the role of pedagogy in Soviet Russia.
