Christopher Hardee served as chief for law and policy in the National Security Division of the Department of Justice from 2013 to 2025, including as acting deputy assistant attorney general for law and policy in 2025. He served as senior counsel to the deputy attorney general and counsel to the associate attorney general after several years as a trial attorney. Hardee is a graduate of Yale Law School and clerked for Judge Fred I. Parker, US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and for Judge James H. Michael Jr., US District Court for the Western District of Virginia.
