Biography: 

Christopher S. Dauer is an associate director at the Hoover Institution.

As director of Marketing and Strategic Communications, Dauer oversees the Institution’s digital content, web-based media, and video offerings, print publications, and the Hoover Institution Press. He is responsible for developing communication strategy and launching and managing new products and platforms, including Hoover's new Educating Americans in Public Policy Initiative (http://policyed.org).

Before coming to Hoover, Dauer spent more than twenty years in the medical technology field focusing on marketing, sales, and strategy. He was a senior executive at four start-up companies: Invuity, Inc. (IVTY), Evalve, Inc. (acquired by Abbott Vascular), St. Francis Medical Technologies (acquired by Kyphon/Medtronic), and Fusion Medical Technologies (acquired by Baxter International).

Dauer graduated magna cum laude in economics and history from Brown University and received an MBA from Stanford University. He lives near campus with his wife and two young children.
