Lieutenant Colonel Marquay Edmondson, representing the US Space Force, is a national security affairs fellow for the academic year 2024–25 at the Hoover Institution. He is a career intelligence officer with extensive experience in military and intelligence community operations, data science, air defense, and aerospace/space operations in both the US Army and the space force.

Edmondson served on multiple deployments to Afghanistan as a Brigade S2/G2 advisor on a security force advisory team and managed NATO’s network intelligence support to joint targeting systems in theater. Prior to his fellowship at Hoover, he served as the intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) deputy director for the Combined Force Space Component Command, and later commanded the ISR Division for the Delta 5/Combined Space Operations Center, delivering and executing ISR, command-and-control, and planning support for electronic warfare, mission warning, space situational awareness, and navigation warfare operations to combatant command global warfighters.

Edmondson earned his master’s degree in aeronautical science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, with concentrations in aerospace/space operations management. In addition, he earned his second master’s from National Intelligence University in 2014, transitioning to strategic intelligence, providing direct intel support to Joint Staff J2 and combatant commands. Edmondson earned his PhD in business analytics and decision sciences at Capitol Technology University, Maryland.
