This week’s issue covers the shifting geostrategic landscape as the Chinese Communist party seeks to use the visit by Speaker Pelosi to Taiwan as a pretext for its long-standing policy of threats and coercion against the island democracy.  The Party fears the example that Taiwan provides to the Chinese people: that prosperity and security are possible without a repressive, authoritarian regime.
