About

Dwight Boddorf is a veteran fellow for the academic year 2025-26 at the Hoover Institution.

Boddorf is the borough manager of Tarentum, Pennsylvania, where he works to improve day-to-day operations, support local businesses, and build stronger connections between neighboring communities. A Marine Corps veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and a Purple Heart recipient, Boddorf approaches public service with a steady, team-oriented style, shaped by his military background and years of veterans’ advocacy.

During his time in Tarentum, the Borough has taken steps to modernize utility systems, expand collaboration with nearby municipalities, and reinvest in neighborhoods through blight reduction and community programs. Boddorf emphasizes practical solutions, transparency, and long-term planning to help ensure small towns remain resilient in the face of rising costs and new challenges.

In addition to his local government role, he has volunteered in efforts to support veterans and has served on advisory groups at the county and state level. Recognized regionally for his leadership, Boddorf sees his work as part of a broader commitment to community service and to leaving systems stronger than he found them.
