The Technology, Economics, and Governance Working Group at the Hoover Institution hosted a panel discussion From the Board Room to the Sit Room: A Discussion of Technology, Economics, and Governance Challenges, on April 22, 2021 with John Taylor, the George P. Shultz Senior Fellow in Economics, and guest panelists John T. Chambers, founder and CEO of JC2 Ventures, and General David L. Goldfein, 21st Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force. The discussion was moderated by Amy Zegart, Morris Arnold and Nona Jean Cox Senior Fellow. The panel examined the importance of free markets in bringing economics in security and diplomatic issues, the role of the private sector in national security, and the role of government in fostering technological innovation.
