Award: $5,000 prize + national recognition
Eligibility: Civics teachers (any grade) nominated by students, parents, or colleagues
James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation
Award: Scholarships up to $24,000 for graduate-level study of U.S. history, government or civics (includes teaching obligation).
Eligibility: U.S. citizens planning to teach American history/government/civics
Jack Miller Center Teaching Excellence Award
Award: $2,000 prize for civics education
Eligibility: K-12 and college civics teachers
Darcy Elaine Richie Teacher Courage Award
Award: $10,000 prize awarded for civics education
Eligibility: Middle and high school civics, government, or history teachers
Peter & Leslie Richter Civic Educator of the Year Award
Award: $2,000 prize awarded for civics education in the state of Oregon
Eligibility: K-12 civics teachers in Oregon
Susan B. Wilson Award for RI Teachers K-12
Award: $2,000 prize (runner up prize is $1,000 and honorable mention is $500) awarded to a Rhode Island educator who has either inspired voting amongst students, created a civic participation project, or implemented a civic rights/responsibilities project for students
