Larry Diamond, senior fellow at the Hoover Institution and the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, spoke at the Class Day Lecture during Stanford's 121st Commencement celebrations. The lecture took place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, at Maples Pavilion. The Commencement began at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 17. Cory Booker, mayor of Newark, NJ, and a Stanford graduate, is this year's Commencement speaker.
