Hoover Institution (Stanford, CA) – Paul and Jean Hanna Senior Fellow in Education Eric Hanushek has been ranked among the top economists in the world, in the first edition of a list published by Research.com, which provides data about scientific contributions made by scholars.
Among economics and finance scientists, Hanushek is ranked 30th in the world and 25th in the United States. This ranking accounts for his 258 authored publications and more than 83,000 citations of his work. According to Research.com, the inclusion of scholars among its ranking of top scientists is based on the h-index, which is an “estimate of the importance, significance, and broad impact of a scientist’s cumulative research contributions.” In addition, the ranking accounts for the proportion of contributions made within a scientist’s respective discipline, as well as his or her awards and achievements.
