Former Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty visited the Hoover Institution on Friday, April 8, 2011, for a closed-door roundtable discussion with Hoover fellows on topics including the economy and national security. During his two terms as governor of Minnesota, Pawlenty demonstrated leadership in balancing the state’s budget, cutting spending, reforming health care, and improving schools without raising taxes. The first Republican to form a 2012 presidential exploratory committee, Pawlenty’s visit is part of the new Leadership Forum program, which brings leading political figures to Hoover to interact with fellows. The policy roundtable was followed by a lunch with Hoover Overseers.
