STANFORD—School reform was the topic of a debate hosted by the Koret Task Force on K – 12 Education on January 18, 2007. The resolution of “True School Reform Demands More Attention to Curriculum and Instruction than to Markets and Choice” was argued in the affirmative by Hoover senior fellow Diane Ravitch and Hoover distinguished visiting fellow E. D. Hirsch (right) and in the negative by Hoover senior fellow Paul Peterson and Hoover distinguished visiting fellow Caroline M. Hoxby (left). Hoover senior fellow Chester E. Finn Jr. (center) moderated the debate, which he determined ended in a tie.
