Military History Working Group Meeting

The Working Group on the Role of Military History in Contemporary Conflict met for a workshop during October 7 and 8 to chart its long-term objectives and review its new online journal, Strategika. The group, which consists of distinguished historians, security analysts, and military personnel, is dedicated to revitalizing the study of military history to promote informed policies on matters of national security.

In addition to discussing previous issues of the journal, the working group also explored America’s current strategic challenges and possible responses to them, with one session dedicated to discovering new ways to expand the outreach of the group’s activities. In exploring the status of the United States' troublesome relationship with Russia, members of the working group arrived at topics to be tackled in future issues of Strategika. Since its formal inception less than a year ago, the group has published seven issues of Strategika, with new issues appearing every four weeks.
