The title of Alexander Galetovic’s seminar is “Chile: Thirty-five Years of Market Reform.” His seminar focused on the Chilean free market reforms undertaken in the last 35 years and the consequences of those reforms. Chile and Peru have seen fast and sustained growth, but crises and setbacks have plagued other countries in Latin America. Galetovic also discussed why reforms have worked in Chile and Peru and assessed their prospects for continued support in light of the financial crisis and next presidential election.
