The Honorable John Howard, former prime minister of Australia, discussed the broad implications of the world-wide economic plunge when he met on April 24 with Hoover Institution fellows and Stanford faculty at the Hoover Institution. Howard also addressed terrorism and political developments in areas such as Pakistan and Afghanistan, and China’s status during the downturn and its potential power and standing among other nations once the economy improves.
